How it’s going so far:
Alright, today I compiled a list of article directories that I would submit my articles to which was a pain but I got it done so it’s all good. Next, I started submitting articles that I wrote a while ago but had never published. There’s just one problem. Half of the directories either had a pagerank of under 4 or they did not allow duplicate content. This kinda pissed me off because now I can’t use those directories but I submitted my 3 articles to the remaining sites and currently I have about 20 articles in the queue to be moderated.
The thing is, articles take a while to be moderated (between 3 and 30 days) so I won’t start to see results for another week or so. I’m going to continue with the experiment and write up a new article tomorrow. I’ll have to find a few new directories to submit to but that’s okay.
I’ll let you know in a few days when I start seeing some results. Stay tuned!

3rd party applications are largely what makes Twitter so great. You can manage, save time, increase productivity and communicate more efficiently and easily by using just one application. They make it easy for you and me to send out Tweets quickly and easily so we don’t waste our time on the site. Here’s the top 5 Twitter apps that you’ve just gotta have:
5. Twhirl
Twhirl is like TweetDeck and Opera’s Twitter Widget but a little less simplified. It’s got a similar interface as TweetDeck but functionality as Opera’s Twitter Widget.
4. TwitterBerry
You’re already addicted to your Blackberry (or CrackBerry as I call mine) so why not Tweet from it? Send your followers what’s on your mind and keep them updated straight from your Blackberry.
3. Digsby
Just about the coolest app of them all because it’s so much more than a Twitter app. You can instant messaging, email and social networking accounts to Digsby and turn it into your one-stop-shop for communication. Can this thing make your lunch too?
2. Opera Widget
If you use Opera you can easily install the Opera Widget and tweet right from your browser. Very handy for when you think of something to say but dont’ have time to go all the way over to twitter.com.

First thing’s first, find out why I LOVE TweetDeck and read my review. It’s just about the best Twitter app ever made. Organize, manage, tweet, simplify and save time. TweetDeck does all of those for you plus so much more. No wonder it’s number one on my list.
Alright, let’s do some trial and error. In the past I haven’t submitted very many articles, I’d say under 10. But, recently I’ve been thinking that it might be worth it to try it out and generate some traffic to the Ultimate Affiliate System.
The Experiment:
Here’s the experiment. Over the next 10 days I’m going to write one article and submit it to 20 directories each day. I’m guessing this is going to take me around an hour to an hour and a half per day. After the ten days I’ll have 200 articles posted and 200 backlinks to the Ultimate Affiliate System (for SEO purposes). Actually, it might be a little longer because I’ll have to wait for the articles to be approved but once that’s done I’ll have 200 of them.
In the Ultimate Affiliate System I talked about how if you posted 200 articles and each one got 1 view per day then that would come out to 72,000 visits per year to your site. That’s the goal here. If you’re thinking I made up the 72,000 views that’s completely wrong. My friend Jim Edwards did it all on his own and I’m going to try it out too. Hopefully it works for me! If it does expect to see a lot more on how I did it and article marketing in general on this blog.
It all starts tomorrow:
Starting Friday July 3rd I will start the experiment and of course I’ll keep you posted on everything that goes down. I’m hoping for a huge surge in traffic but we’ll see what happens in the next few days. Stay tuned!

Aahh Twitter, the hottest social networking site of them all at the moment. It came out of no where, one day people started raving about it and boom here it is. One things for sure though, with the infinite uses and 3rd party applications it can be tough to manage your account and followers. Here’s how to get the most out of Twitter, find new purposes for it and save time by using the most helpful apps.
What you can use it for:
- Personal stories and events happening in your life. Remember, life happens between blog posts and emails. Tell your friends about it using Twitter.
- News source: Establish authority and attract people interested in your news topic.
- Develop relationships: Twitter is a SOCIAL NETWORKING tool so use it like one! Talk to people interested in the same things you are and strike up a conversation.
- Meet new people: Many people have followers that they don’t even know. The beauty of Twitter is that you can use it to MEET new and exciting people.
- Promote your products: Send out a short message to your followers about your newest product.
- Promote affiliate products: If you’re an affiliate marketer you can send lots of targeted traffic to your affiliate products.
- Advertise your newest blog post: If it’s interesting and compelling enough, people will click on it and even RT it. Great way to send traffic to your blog.
- Customer service platform: You can even use Twitter to solve problems between you, your clients/customers and your products. Also establishes authority.
Mix it up a little!
There’s nothing more annoying than someone who constantly send out tweets that are filled with advertising garbage. The key to making money on Twitter is to be a real human being and interact with people on the site. The above list is a great one for you to print off and store by your computer. You want to make sure that you’re doing at least 6 of those because that will generate the most credibility and relationship status with you and your followers.
It pays to be different:
Here’s a cool tip that I haven’t told anyone before. With all the advertising on Twitter is difficult to stand out from the crowd. Here’s a screenshot of my Twitter homepage as of 2:33PM.
See how out of those 8 tweets that 4 are telling me to buy some product and 6 are telling me to click a link to find out more about the subject. It seems like no matter who you follow they’re always trying to sell you something or give you something for free. How do you set yourself apart?
It’s simple really and I do it all the time. Write about how you hate Twitter, the people on Twitter and everything about Twitter. Now, I’m not saying that you should swear and be mean but you are entitled to an opinion online so why not make it a controversial one? You see, people love controversy because they are attracted to it. When people say things that go against the grain, others will be attracted to reply and give their opinion. This is extremely powerful stuff. Here’s an example:
You could do a post like mine where I ranted about how I hated Twitter. Once I posted it I tweeted it out to my followers and instantly saw a surge in the traffic to my blog. Unfortunately at the time I was new to Twitter and only had 100 or so followers which was why no one bothered to comment but you get the point.
Tweet about the most unique topics possible
It’s important to stand out of the crowd and get people’s attention. If you’re compelling enough you’ll be able to keep them interested and have them do whatever you want whether it’s signing up to your list or buying your latest product. Another way to be unique on Twitter is to tweet about the most weirdest/interesting things that you can find. This is a really great way to instantly pop out from the crowd. A really good thing to do would be to post the weird/interesting thing on your blog and then tweet about it. Here’s a list of things that people find interesting:

- Weird
- Gross
- Shocking
- Sexy
- Inspiring
- Demonstrates Instructional
- Personal
